Yuletide Greetings to One and All!

The Deer Mother (Beaivi) takes to the skies on the longest, darkest night of the year to capture the sun in her antlers and bring it back to warm the earth.

In this season where we celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, our hearts are warmed by all the love shown to us after my last letter about Ralph’s battle with Lyme disease.

The good news is that he’s recovering well! He’s had a lot of rest and good food, and we are very grateful.

Our wish for all of you is that your holidays are merry and bright - and also that you get some time for quiet reflection, and a chance to go inward to rest and recharge.

Winter is the season for rest and healing. We enjoy simply spending time watching the birds at the feeders and walking through the snow-covered gardens and into the woods with Abbey. Oh, and reading the stack of books I’ve been longing to open.

We’ll reopen the website to mail order on January 3.

We’ll be closing Tiny Farmstand in January and February and reopening it in March when it will be easier to keep it warm. I may offer Valentine’s Day pies or Mooncakes - all by special order. (People are always welcome to contact me by email if you’d like to pick up something when we’re closed - I’m happy to put orders up there at any time or meet you here at the house.)

Soon the days will lengthen, and it will be time to sow the seeds. The ice will melt, and the aroma of the good earth will stir our souls and spark new energy.

Until then, wishing you all good health, comfort and joy, and peace and love.

Patti, Ralph, and Abbey the Joyful

P.S. Ralph has dubbed Abbey “Vice-President in charge of Customer Elations” because she enthusiastically and noisily welcomes everybody who visits Tiny Farmstand!
