Rosie's Red Currant Preserve
Beloved as the hardy berry of the north, Red Currants hang in long strings like tiny rosy pearls.
We pick our organically grown currants at their sun-ripened peak and simmer them with just a little organic sugar (no added pectin or thickeners) to make this classic preserve.
Some might call this "Red Currant Jelly" since we strain the berries of seeds, but because we make the preserves from the whole fruit itself, passing it through a sieve and pressing through the pulp of the berries, it's richer and more intense than a "jelly" made simply from juice.
Enjoy it with scones, muffins, toast, and waffles as well as cakes and tarts. Explore its uses in glazes or sauces for meat, poultry, and game.
